A padel club in Weybridge has announced its three brand new courts are now open, bringing the total number of padel courts at the club to four.

The Weybridge club, set in the grounds of Bannatyne’s Health Club and Spa on Walton Lane, was launched under new ownership with EzeePadel in September this year.

Previous owner David Garrett set up Weybridge Padel Club which at the time was the first in Surrey and as interest in the sport grew, so did demand for membership.

Padel is now one of the world’s fastest-growing sports with 40,000 padel courts globally as of 2022 with an expected growth rate of 26% by 2025. In the UK there are around 90,000 people playing every year and its fast-growing appeal is thought to be down to its accessibility – as it is easy to play at any ability, age or background.

When EzeePadel took over in Weybridge, it planned to build three more padel courts to accompany the existing one, bringing the total number of courts to four.

Peter Crossman, Founder of EzeePadel and new owner of Weybridge Padel Club, said: “Padel is a fast growing sport and a true passion of mine. I learned to play a few years ago and caught the bug, and I wanted more people to see how fun and easy it is to play.

“The build of the three new courts at Weybridge is really exciting. We’ve a long list of people who are waiting to play and we hope even more people waiting to try padel from around the Weybridge community will come and give it a try.”

Weybridge is already a 200-strong club with a thriving social community and ready to welcome even more new players to its courts.
