Pre-authorisation charge

Playtomic has introduced changes that affect every single Club that uses the app as its booking system. This is not just in the UK but across the world.

These changes mean that when booking private matches using Playtomic, there will now be a holding charge on your account. This is just a pre-authorisation as opposed to a charge and it will clear as soon as everyone in your match has paid their share. Pre-authorisation will apply regardless of your level of membership and regardless if you play at other clubs - as this is something that is not unique to Weybridge.

We understand it is quite inconvenient, especially if members are trying to book multiple sessions, and we are in touch with Playtomic regularly to provide them with feedback about our concerns.

There are a couple of things you could consider if you do not wish to accrue a large sum as a holding charge on a credit or debit card:

1. The holding charge only applies to Private matches:

So you might want to consider setting up Open matches instead. However, as these games are open to all, your group will need to secure their slots quickly!

2. Use the wallet to carry the holding charge:

Some members are using their wallet to store an amount to use against the holding charge to prevent large amounts being held on their credit and debit cards.

This update does seem to be permanent although EzeePadel is in touch with Playtomic to see what the alternatives might be going forward. Please bear with us as we get to grips with this update ourselves, but please do send any queries our way.
